Electric Vans in 2026: The EV Revolution Continues

There's no getting around it. Electric vans are still dominating the conversation in 2026, and for good reason. With government grants of up to £5,000 for large electric vans continuing through at least 2027, and businesses potentially saving over £2,800 annually on fuel costs, the financial case for going electric has never been stronger.

If an electric van is ticking all of your boxes in 2026, then you’ve come to the right place. At Loads of Vans, you’ll find some of the lowest-priced electric commercial vehicles in the UK. Start your search here.

Brand New Renault Electric Vans: Trafic E-Tech, Estafette E-Tech & Goelette E-Tech

Renault is making the biggest splash this year with not one, not two, but three brand-new electric vans, all developed in partnership with Flexis (a collaboration between Renault, Volvo, and logistics firm CMA CGM). So let’s take a deeper dive into each of these models…

New Renault Trafic E-Tech Van 2026

The star of the show is the all-new Renault Trafic E-Tech, which ditches its combustion heritage for a pure electric platform. Built from the ground up as an EV, it features shorter overhangs and a longer wheelbase than its predecessor, offering load capacities between 5.1 and 5.8 cubic metres depending on configuration.

With an expected range of around 280 miles and a payload of 1,222kg, the Trafic E-Tech is positioning itself as a genuine Ford E-Transit Custom rival. Perhaps most impressively, thanks to 800V technology, you'll be able to charge from 15% to 80% in under 20 minutes.

New Renault Estafette E-Tech Van 2026

Named after Renault's iconic 1960s van, the Estafette is designed specifically for city-based delivery work. This tall van stands 2.6m high and features a walk-through design from the cab to the load space, allowing drivers up to 1.9m tall to stand upright inside.

In addition, the sliding doors and rear roller shutter make it ideal for parcel delivery and last-mile logistics. Renault claims the Estafette's predictive maintenance and real-time software updates could reduce operating costs by up to 30%.

New Renault Goelette E-Tech Van 2026

The Goelette shares its platform and cab with the Trafic E-Tech, but is designed as a chassis cab that can carry loads up to 1.4 tonnes. Available in high-volume box, extended cab, and tipper configurations, it's perfect for businesses needing maximum versatility with the reliability of an award-winning brand.

All three models share the same innovative skateboard platform and 800V charging technology, making them some of the most advanced electric vans ever to hit UK roads.

New Mercedes-Benz Vito Van 2026

After a relatively quiet period following the launch of the eSprinter in 2024, Mercedes-Benz is roaring back into action with the highly anticipated all-new Vito van. The replacement for both the Vito and eVito will be based on Mercedes' new VAN.EA platform for electric models and VAN.CA for combustion engines.

The new Vito will be revealed during the first half of 2026, with the electric-only model expected to reach UK showrooms by late 2026 or early 2027, and diesel versions following later. Mercedes is reportedly targeting a range well in excess of 300 miles, which would make it a genuine class-leader and address one of the main concerns fleet operators have about electric vans.

The teaser images we've seen (via "The Boulder" concept) suggest a dramatically modern design that shares DNA with both the new Vito medium van and the next-generation Sprinter. Mercedes has kept most details under wraps, but insiders suggest both vans will be "closely related to one another" rather than distinct models, potentially breaking free from traditional size categories.

Kia's Commercial Vehicle Expansion in 2026

After successfully launching the PV5 in 2025, Kia is doubling down on the commercial vehicle market in 2026. The PV5 Cargo and PV5 Passenger models will become increasingly common on UK roads, along with the Chassis Cab variant, which debuted in November 2025. Expect to see some interesting third-party camper conversions appearing as well!

The PV5 sits somewhere between a Citroen Berlingo and a Ford Transit Custom in size, measuring 4,645mm long with either a standard roof height (1,900mm) or a high roof option (2,200mm). With load volumes up to 7m³ on some configurations, it's proving popular with businesses looking for a compact but capable electric van.

Iveco eJolly and eSuperJolly Vans 2026

Italian manufacturer Iveco is expanding its light commercial range with two new electric-only models developed in partnership with Stellantis. If the Iveco eJolly and eSuperJolly look familiar, that's because they're based on the proven medium and large van platforms used by the Vauxhall Vivaro Electric and Vauxhall Movano Electric.

The eJolly version sits in the medium van segment with a gross vehicle weight of 2,800-3,200kg, offering a payload of up to 1,175kg. You can choose between a 49kWh battery (139 miles range) or a 75kWh battery (218 miles range).

By comparison, the eSuperJolly variant is the larger sibling, with a GVW of 3,500-4,250kg and a payload of 1,400kg. It comes with a 110kWh battery delivering an impressive 260-mile range and a powerful 268bhp electric motor. While the payload doesn't quite match the Ford E-Transit's 1,758kg, the combination of range and power makes it an option to be considered for businesses running longer routes.

Brand New Van Contenders for 2026

While some of the heavyweights of the commercial vehicle world are making some big moves in 2026, there are some new contenders keen to give them a run for their money…

Farizon V7E

Following the successful launch of the Farizon SV in 2025, the Chinese manufacturer is bringing a smaller model to the UK. The V7E sits between a small and medium van with a load volume of up to 7m³ and an impressive range approaching 300 miles.

It's designed to compete directly with the Kia PV5 in the compact electric van segment, so we think it’s definitely one to watch.

Skywell 233

Another Chinese manufacturer ready for its UK debut is Skywell, which is set to launch its large electric van after debuting at the 2024 Paris Motor Show. Available in two lengths, two heights, and two gross weights (3.5 or 4.25 tonnes), the Skywell 233 comes with battery options of 88kWh or 105kWh.

With a 201bhp motor and decent equipment levels including a 15.6-inch touchscreen, it's targeting the Ford Transit head-on with competitive pricing. We’ll be keeping a keen eye on this one.

WEVC eCV1

Not the catchiest of names, the WEVC eCV1 is a British-engineered electric van that stands out with its central driving position. Available in 3.5t (1,000kg payload) and 4.25t (1,750kg payload) versions, the eCV1 offers up to 230 miles of range.

While the innovative design is turning heads, payload capacity remains competitive rather than class-leading. It’s certainly one not to be dismissed.

What About Diesel Vans in 2026?

While electric vans are grabbing the headlines, diesel models remain essential for many businesses - in particular those covering high mileages or requiring maximum payload capacity. Diesel van fans will be pleased to hear that several key models are receiving updates and relaunches in 2026:

Stellantis Van Updates in 2026

While specific updates haven't yet been confirmed, most of the Stellantis van range (including the Vauxhall Vivaro, Peugeot Expert, Citroën Dispatch, and their larger siblings) is due for a refresh in 2026.

These remain some of the most popular medium vans on UK roads, and any updates will likely focus on tech improvements, efficiency gains, and interior refinement. Watch this space!

New Volkswagen Transporter Van 2026 (7th Generation)

Although the all-new Transporter launched in early 2025, 2026 sees it hitting its stride with greater availability. For the first time in the model's history, it's available with plug-in hybrid powertrains alongside traditional turbocharged diesel engines.

Standard wheelbase versions offer 5.8m³ of load space (a 10% increase), while long wheelbase high roof variants max out at 9m³. Payload capacity reaches up to 1,330kg. Unsurprisingly, diesel versions are significantly cheaper to buy than electric equivalents.

New Mitsubishi L200 Pickup 2026

After a six-year absence from Europe, the Mitsubishi L200 pick-up is making a comeback in Spring 2026 with an all-new seventh-generation model. Unlike many competitors rushing to electrification, the L200 sticks with proven diesel power - specifically a 2.4-litre twin-turbo unit paired with the most advanced safety and tech features ever fitted to an L200.

For businesses needing a reliable, affordable pick-up truck with strong towing capacity, this is excellent news.

Pick-Up Trucks Go Electric in 2026

The pick-up truck segment is experiencing its own electric revolution in 2026, with a series of new-generation models making moves in the UK, including:

New Toyota Hilux Pick-Up 2026 (9th Generation)

The legendary Hilux enters its ninth generation with multiple powertrain options: BEV (battery electric), hybrid, hydrogen fuel cell, and traditional combustion. The BEV variant tested in 2025 promises around 150 miles of range with a payload just over 700kg.

While the range isn't groundbreaking, Toyota's 10-year warranty and clever off-road tech make it an interesting proposition. UK sales are set to kick off in Q2 2026.

New Isuzu D-Max EV Pick-Up 2026

One of the most talked-about launches from the 2025 Birmingham CV Show, the Isuzu D-Max EV is finally arriving in 2026. As the electric version of the award-winning D-Max, it's generating serious interest from fleet operators and businesses looking to electrify their pick-up fleets.

New KGM Musso EV Pick-Up 2026

Set to launch towards the end of 2026, the Musso EV will be the first South Korean electric pick-up truck in the UK, beating Kia and Hyundai to market. With an 80.6kWh battery providing around 249 miles of range in two-wheel-drive mode (nearly 100 miles more than the Toyota Hilux BEV), it's turning heads with its impressive specifications.

Looking Ahead: What New Vans Are Coming in 2027?

While 2026 is packed with exciting new van launches, 2027 promises even more innovation with this plucky bunch:

New Kia PV7 Van

The bigger brother to the PV5, the Kia PV7 is a large electric panel van due for unveiling in 2026 ahead of sales in 2027. Expected to compete directly with the Ford E-Transit Custom, it will offer even more space and advanced software solutions.

Kia suggests it's suitable for furniture removals and large appliance deliveries. With Kia's PBV platform proving versatile and well-engineered, the PV7 could be a genuine game-changer in the large van segment.

New Kia PV9 Van

Going even bigger, Kia has confirmed a full-size PV9 will join the range by 2029, though we might see a concept or teaser in late 2027. We’ll wait and see.

New Mercedes-Benz Sprinter Van

The all-new Sprinter on the VAN.EA and VAN.CA platforms are expected in 2027, following the launch of the Vito model. With Mercedes promising "huge increases" in electric range and efficiency, this could set new standards for the large van segment.

New Farizon SV Chassis Cab Van

Newcomer Farizon plans to update its SV line-up with a chassis cab model in 2027, expanding the versatility of its large electric van platform.

A Ford-Renault Van Collaboration is on the Cards

The surprise announcement of a strategic partnership between Ford and Renault on commercial vehicles could bear fruit in 2027 or beyond. While details are scarce, speculation suggests the next-generation Ford Transit could potentially share underpinnings with the award-winning Renault Master.

Now this we can’t wait to see!

New Renault 4 Van

One of the quirkiest prospects for 2027 is a van variant of the new Renault 4 E-Tech. While not yet confirmed for the UK, we think the passenger model's retro-futuristic styling would translate brilliantly to a small electric van.

If it comes to our shores, expect around 1,045 litres of cargo space, 55 litres of underfloor storage, and a payload of up to 345kg.
