The UK’s van drivers are making life easy for thieves. More than half don’t have an alarm fitted; most are without an immobiliser; and some don’t lock their vans! London appears to be the hotbed for thieves targeting vans with 35% of drivers having their vans broken into in the last three years compared to 16% nationally. The areas least affected by van crime are Wales and the Midlands. Drivers in London are the most security conscious and most lock their vans but they are the worst at emptying the contents! The least security conscious are drivers in the South East and Anglia who leave their vans unlocked.

The latest information from Manheim Auctions suggests that used van prices are on the up. According to the auction, the average price of a wholesale used van went up by 5.5% during January. Manheim also forecasts a "positive outlook" for February.
